Dolly Pelz

Dolly Pelz, formerly Dolly Barr, was synonymous with roller skating. Her professional career as a roller skater included appearances on the Ed Sullivan Show and The Steve Allen Show.
Dolly learned to roller skate on sidewalks and perfected her routines as a teenager at the Rollercade where she skated to organ accompaniment. However while touring the United States and Puerto Rico, Dolly had an orchestra playing her arrangements. She appeared on Bills such as Bart Lahr, Patty Page, Tennessee Ernie Ford, and Jeannette MacDonald.
Dolly’s favorite musical arrangement by which to perform was, “Liebestraum” the arrangers- Mel Torme and Al Pellegraito. Dolly kept in contact with all of the artists she performed with.
Dolly’s routine was acrobatic. She worked full stage without the use of any mats. She was very graceful and bends and handstands were her forte.
Shortly after meeting her husband Frank, Dolly decided to give up her career and raise a Family in Seven Hills.
