Mike Minjock

3-time NCAA All-American Michael Minjock attended St. Ignatius High School where he set the school record in the long jump. His Senior-year performance at the Division 1 State Championships at Ohio State University in an 8th place finish and All-State honors.  Choosing to continue his Jesuit education,  Michael attended John Carroll Univeristy. In a sport measured in quarter inches, Michael, in his freshman year, beat the 24-year old school record for the long jump by over a foot.  He qualified for the Division III National Championships 4 times, performing in Los Angeles, Chicago, Iowa and Wisconsin. He was named All-American 3 times in his career. His last collegiate performance, in 2013, resulted in a 2nd place finish at the National Championships, with a jump of nearly 25 feet. To put this in perspective, he would have performed better than 17 of the 42 long jump participants at the previous year's London Olympics, and jumped over 2 1/2 feet further than on of the American jumpers.

One of Michael's all-time best performances occurred at the 2013 All-Conference championships. He won the long jump and triple jump championships and finished second in both the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes, resulting in a Male Athlete of the Year distinction.

Michael also holds John Carroll's triple jump and indoor long jump records. He was also an accomplished sprinter, setting the school record in the Indoor 60 meter dash and 200 meter relay, for a total of 5 John Carroll University records. During his collegiate career Michael was names All-Conference 13 times and All-Ohio 4 times.
