Dino Lucarelli

As the past couple of months have shown, there are few things Cleveland loves more than it’s professional sports teams.  And few have left such an indelible mark on Cleveland sports than Dino Lucarelli.  A native Clevelander, Dino began his career with the Cleveland Barons as the public relations and promotions director.  He then moved on to the Cleveland Indians in 1967 and continued through 1975, where he worked with the Cleveland Stadium Corporation until he managed media and public relations for the Browns.  Upon the Browns’ untimely departure in 1995, Lucarelli could not bear the thought of abandoning his beloved city, and opted to remain.  From there, he became one of the most indispensible persons in the fight to not only keep the illustrious and storied Cleveland Browns alive, but have it brought back in the form of a new Browns football team.  Following the Browns return to Cleveland in 1999, Dino ran the alumni program, becoming one of the greatest ambassadors of a team that boasts 8 League championships.  After a decade and a half with the ‘new’ Browns, and almost four decades overall with the Browns, Lucarelli retired in late 2013.  His tenure with the Browns has left such an impression that both the media room and Pro Football Writers of America ‘Good Guy Award’ was named in his honor.  Dino was a resident of Seven Hills for over 35 years.
